Spend a morning snorkelling and paddle-boarding along Brazil's only tropical fjord, before heading back to a luxury schooner for lunch.

Activity at sea, exclusive for guests – private or in groups – on our Maria Panela gastronomic schooner, and perfectly assembled with dishes prepared personally by the chef, with extreme rigor in the choice of fresh produce of the region and Organic farm of the Pousada’s Farm.

Guests board motorboats that, after a morning stroll through the beautiful beaches and islands of the region, lead them towards Saco do Mamanguá (a small bay with 33 beaches along 8 km of length), where they find Maria Panela anchored. They are welcomed by cocktails and drinks while enjoying the beauty of the clear waters of nature. Our nautical team offers equipment for snorkling, stand-up, and activities at sea.

The diversity of activity options is proportional to the beauty of the place: either in the sea, in a boat ride with our team through Saco do Mamanguá swamp areas, or on tracks in the mountains that surround the bay.

Guests return to Maria Panela where lunch is prepared and served, overlooking the mind-blowing beauty and sharing the fantastic experiences. At the end of the day, after 6 hours of leisure and lunch on board, guests return to the port of Paraty, and to the Literary Pousada.

As an alternative to an even more special experience, guests can extend the activity and spend the night in a charming and refined little house in Saco do Mamanguá, with breakfast served by a special support team.

Discover the vast birdlife of the Atlantic Forest

Paraty is the region with the greatest diversity of birds in Brazil. To take advantage of this potential for appreciation of Nature, guests of Bananal Farm can go through a program of bird watching with breakfast in picnic format in the Atlantic Forest, in one of the mountains where our Famr is located (just 10 minutes by car from the historic center, including Pousada Literária).

The activity is conducted by the resident ornithologist, who conducts studies for scientific publications on the subject. Studies include capturing, banding, placarding, and tracking the species and returning them to their habitat – all done with guest’s participation and explained in non-technical terms. More than 262 species have already been identified at Bananal Farm – this diversity is part of the positive effect of reforestation that has been done on the farm in the last 2 years.

Guests participate in this activity – absolutely contagious to everyone, especially children – and during the activity, enjoy Pousada Literária chef’s picnic breakfast.
