Kayak expedition to the spring of Formoso River
10/15/2018The Cerrado also has the sources of the largest hydrographic basins in South America. The source of the Rio Formoso, which flows into the major São Francisco River Basin, is inside Fazenda Trijunção and is born in one of its lagoons. The Fazenda Trijunção estate is located around the Rio Formoso riverbank, protecting it and allowing for some of the most impressive Cerrado explorations.
A kayak trip or boat ride through the lagoon is a unique opportunity to enjoy all the tranquility of the Cerrado – the Brazilian savannah – its beauty and to observe life around.
The ride leaves from the veredas (oasis-like environment) where Fazenda Trijunção is located, and where – if lucky – guests can be welcomed by bands of macaws that often fly over visitors.
Riding through the calm waters of the lagoon, we can organize a picnic served in the veredas at the end of the activity.
